The Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania assigned the National Audit Office to conduct audits of European Union structural assistance for the financial period 2007-2013 received in the Republic of Lithuania

The first Public Audit strategy approved. The Strategy defined public audit mission, strategic goal, determined main directions for the implementation of public audit strategy measures including improvement of public audit process and strengthening of audit quality control.

Amendment of the Law on the State Control specified the main goals and objectives of the State Control, more emphasis was placed on the responsibilities of the Auditor General and Deputies of the Auditor General in the process of government audit.
