Baltic Sea ecosystem will be protected from harmful effect, and the existing fish resources will be saved if ecosystem monitoring and fisheries control will be enhanced. Such a common position was reached in national audits on monitoring of ecosystem and fisheries control in the Baltic Sea conducted by the National Audit Office of Lithuania and eight other Supreme Audit Institutions from the Baltic region. The National Audit Office of Lithuania evaluated operation of the management systems for national emergency situations. Emergency situations may be caused by fire, disasters, terrorist acts, explosions, riots, as well as other reasons. Their management is assigned to civil protection and rescue system institutions: Emergency Commission under the Government, Ministry of the Interior, Fire and Rescue Department, as well a other institutions and departments.
