On the eve of the Lithuanian State Day (Day of Coronation of the Lithuanian King Mindaugas) the President of the Republic of Lithuania conferred state decoration on Auditor General Rasa Budbergytė. The Auditor General Rasa Budbergytė was awarded the Cross of Commander of the Order of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas for merits to Lithuania.

Conferring State awards the President Valdas Adamkus said: “The work and endeavors of each generation and every person have created a nation vibrant in its heart and actions, forging a close bond between all of us here and the Lithuania of 1009, the Lithuania of King Mindaugas and the Lithuania of All Ages. I thank sincerely those who have gathered here in this hall, all those whose work and endeavors are making Lithuania more confident, secure and optimistic about the future. “Subsoil assets should be better protected and sparingly used in our country,“ states Auditor General Rasa Budbergytė. According to her, unreasonable control system for use of assets is developed, while their use is hampered by bureaucratic obstacles. The National Audit Office of Lithuania recommended to develop a strategy for use of subsoil assets, as well as amendments to legislation in order to allow the optimal planning, management and control of extraction of all the subsoil assets.
