Public audit experts of Lithuania will review the activities of the Supreme Audit Office of Poland

Representatives of the National Audit Office of Lithuania along with colleagues from Denmark, Austria and the Netherlands are invited to conduct a peer review in the Supreme Audit Office of Poland (SAO).

On 18-20 January the first meeting of the peer review working group chaired by Denmark took place in Warsaw. The peer review expert from the National Audit  Office of Lithuania is the Director of

Audit Development Department Mindaugas Macijauskas.

 

During the first meeting of the peer review experts representatives of the Supreme Audit Office of Poland presented the activities of the Office, conducted audits, audit techniques and practices applied. A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed.

The SAO hopes that independent external experts will identify Office activity areas for improvement and will highlight best practice examples. The experts are also expected to assess whether the SAO applies international standards in its activities and takes over the best practice of other countries in a professional way.

The peer review will analyse audit selection, planning and audit procedures, drafting of reports and follow up of audit recommendations.

This is the third international peer review of the Supreme Audit Office of Poland.
