Auditor General Rasa Budbergytė received State award for merits to Lithuania

On the eve of the Lithuanian State Day (Day of Coronation of the Lithuanian King Mindaugas) the President of the Republic of Lithuania conferred state decoration on Auditor General Rasa Budbergytė. The Auditor General Rasa Budbergytė was awarded the Cross of Commander of the Order of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas for merits to Lithuania.

Conferring State awards the President Valdas Adamkus said: “The work and endeavors of each generation and every person have created a nation vibrant in its heart and actions, forging a close bond between all of us here and the Lithuania of 1009, the Lithuania  of  King  Mindaugas  and   the  Lithuania  of  All  Ages.

I thank sincerely those who have gathered here in this hall, all those whose work and endeavors are making Lithuania more confident, secure and optimistic about the future. I feel blessed to have known you in my ten years of presidency. I feel privileged to have been able to thank you and shake your hand. You are the pride and glory of Lithuania. Thank you so very much.“

In addition to Auditor General Rasa Budbergytė, State awards for merits to Lithuania were conferred to four more employees of the National Audit Office of Lithuania: Deputy Auditor General Nijolė Mickuvienė received the Order for Merits to Lithuania - the Cross of Officer; former Chief Auditor of Audit Department 6 Aldona Meiluvienė - Cross of Knight of the Order of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas; Director of Audit Department 2 Ms Zita Valatkienė, as well as Deputy Director of Audito Department 6 Remigijus Pužauskas received the Order for Merits to Lithuania – the Cross of Knight.
