Each audit department is in charge of certain audit area.


Audit Department 1
Audit in the area of health protection, health insurance, labour market, social security and labour, agriculture, and foreign affairs.

Audit Department 2
Audit in the area of State economy and market control, energy, transport, communications, environment and construction, forestry.

Audit Department 3
Audit of allocation and use of the State Budget subsidies to municipalities; use and disposal of the State-owned land, privatization of the State assets, as well as audited entities falling under the financial (regularity) audit of the department's divisions fall under the remit of Audit Department 3.

Audit Department 3, Vilnius division
Public auditors of Vilnius division perform financial (regularity) audits in Governor's administration of Vilnius and Utena Counties, as well as audits of 14 municipalities, 23 Courts and other entities, which fall under the territorial coverage of the Division.

Audit Department 3, Kaunas division
Public auditors of Kaunas division perform financial (regularity) audits in Governor's administration of Alytus, Kaunas, and Marijampolė Counties, as well as audits of 18 municipalities, 16 Courts, 4 universities, 2 acadamies, 10 institutes and other entities which fall under the territorial coverage of the Division.

Audit Department 3, Klaipėda division
Public auditors of Klaipėda division perform financial (regularity) audits in Governor's administration of Klaipėda, Tauragė, and Telšiai Counties, as well as audits of 15 municipalities, 14 Courts, 1 university and other entities which fall under the territorial coverage of the Division.

Audit Department 3, Panevėžys division
Public auditors of Panevėžys division perform financial (regularity) audits in Governor's administration of Panevėžys and Šiauliai Counties, as well as audit of 13 municipalities, 17 Courts, 1 university and other entities which fall under the territorial coverage of the Division.


Audit Department 4
Audit in the area of internal affairs, national defence, State security, law and order, legislation, and public administration.

Audit Department 5
Audit in the area of education, science, sports, culture.

Audit Department 6
Audit in the area of management of the State property, debt, and finance, and State revenue.

Audit Department 7
Audit of entities managing and/or administering, controlling European Union financial assistance, as well as receiving European Union financial assistance (Structural Funds programmes, Cohesion Fund programmes, SAPARD programme, as well as Guarantee Section of the European Agricultural Guidance and Guarantee Fund).

Audit Department 8
Audit of entities managing, administering, controlling, and receiving EU structural assistance for the period 2007-2013 allocated under the Lithuanian Strategy for 2007-2013 for the Use of EU Structural Assistance, as well as under operational programmes implementing the Strategy.
