10/01/2019   The 100th Birthday of the National Audit Office Commemorated with a Postage Stamp

With the 100th birthday of the National Audit Office, commemorated on 16 January, just around the corner, Lithuanian Post will be issuing the second block of postage stamps on the topic “The 100th Anniversary of the Modern Institutions of Lithuania”.  The anniversary of the National Audit Office will be commemorated with a postage stamp based on a fragment of one of the very first documents of the institution of 1919 and a key symbolising the 100th birthday of the National Audit Office.

The design of the block of postage stamps dedicated to the National Audit Office, the Lithuania Riflemen’s Union, and the Customs of the Republic of Lithuania was developed by the artist Roma Auškalnytė.

The new block of postage stamps will be available for purchase from the 11 January at the Vilnius Central Post Office and the country’s other major post offices, as well as at the on-line store of the Lithuanian Post. The postage stamps will also be accompanied by the first day envelope available at the central post offices of Vilnius and Kaunas, as well as at the on-line store.

On 11 January, correspondence paid for with the new block of postage stamps at the Vilnius Central Post Office will be stamped with a special first day stamp.
