17/05/2019   Supreme Audit Institution – finalist of the competition “The Best HR practice”

Supreme Audit Institution together with 15 more Lithuanian entities participated in the annual competition “The Best HR practice” organised by the Association for HR Professionals (PVPA) which included presentations of the most successful HR management projects. The National Audit Office with its success story on increasing employee engagement - “We are Stronger Together” – has become one of the finalists of the competition.

The following measures to increase employee engagement were implemented at the National Audit Office: events promoting the four values of the institution - professionalism, responsibility, cooperation, and innovation; monthly events “Our Hour”, one-page length institutional strategy, system of “stars” awarded to colleagues for their value-focused behaviour, quality management system controlled by one button press, direct broadcasting of management meetings to employees with an opportunity to ask questions in the comments, and others.

At the competition finals held during the conference-exhibition “Motivated @work”, two other finalists – AB “Kauno tiltai“ and UAB “Rimi Lietuva“ – presented their success stories alongside with the supreme audit institution. The winner of the competition - social experiment #AmžiusNesvarbu (age does not matter) by “Rimi”.

“We are grateful to the organisers of the competition, members of the jury, all those who voted for us, we also congratulate the winners. We have achieved our aim – to show that it might be pleasant to work at the institution carrying out complex activity and that values really work here. We are pleased with the achievement to be among the best and to be able to share our practices,” said the Auditor General Arūnas Dulkys.

The aim of the competition organised by the PVPA is to attract attention to the role of the HR function in management, to encourage HR professionals to compete for the best in sharing their experiences and practices, to evaluate HR management projects implemented in business and public entities to create added value for business.
