13/06/2019   Representatives of the National Audit Office and the International Monetary Fund to discuss the fiscal situation in the country

Representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) visit the Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) of Lithuania. The meeting will discuss the assessments of state budgeting and forecasting, explanations of the differences between past and current fiscal forecasts in the 2019 budget, current challenges and reform priorities. One of the topics covered by the meeting - evaluation of the EU investments.

In the course of the annual consultative mission taking place on 12-25 June the IMF representatives will assess the economic situation and development trends in our country under the IMF's Articles of Agreement, which obliges member countries to pursue economic and financial policies which ensure financial and economic stability.

Lithuania has been a member of the International Monetary Fund since 1992. Representatives of the IFM visit our country each year to make recommendations on financial and economic stability, on how to achieve and maintain it. The members of the IFM mission will also meet representatives from other public institutions during the visit in Lithuania.
