24/09/2019   INTOSAI Congress: discussions on the role of supreme audit institutions in achieving the national goals

On 24-28 September, Deputy Auditor General Mindaugas Macijauskas participates in the XXIII Congress of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) in Moscow.

INTOSAI Congress organised every three years in different regions of the World offers an opportunity for its members – 194 supreme audit institutions worldwide – together with the representatives of the United Nations, the World Bank and the Institute of Internal Auditors to discuss relevant issues and challenges relating to public audit.

The key themes of this year‘s Congress are as follows: Information technology for the development of public administration, and the Role of the supreme audit institutions in the achievement of the national priorities and goals. The event will also discuss the audits of sustainable development goals and their implementation, auditors’ professional development among other issues. INTOSAI and its regional organisations will present the results of activity of their working groups, projects and initiatives.

In 2016, the SAI of Lithuania was elected as the external auditor of the INTOSAI for a period of three years and therefore, together with the SAI of Ghana, will present a report of the external auditors on the 2018 financial statements of INTOSAI.
