The Annual Meeting of the Task Force on Municipality Audit will discuss the activities implemented, their results and the Task Force’s Preliminary Activity Plan for 2020.

“Functions performed by municipalities should serve the citizens and operate efficiently as they are designed namely for them. Demographic changes, ageing society, development of information technology change the habits of the population, their mobility, and needs for services. Therefore, the municipal functions should be reviewed. Proper distribution of functions allows to contribute to increasing the economic efficiency and better meeting the population’s needs“, – says the Auditor General Arūnas Dulkys.

The SAI of Lithuania initiated establishment of the EUROSAI Task Force on Municipality Audit in 2016 and has been chairing it since. The SAI of Bulgaria having joined the TFMA in February this year, the Task Force currently has 28 European member SAIs.
