Press Release
23/03/2020   The certified quality management system of the SAI is functioning properly

A surveillance audit was conducted at the National Audit Office of Lithuania confirming that its quality management system has been installed and is functioning properly. The risk assessment-based management of NAOL activities, the determination of the goals and indicators of activities and processes as well as the monitoring of their achievement are all in compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 standard. No nonconformities, observations and recommendations for improvement were made.

The ISO auditors not only stated that the quality management system of the NAOL is in compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001 but also noted that, within five years, from 2015 onwards, the quality management system has become a part of the culture of the organisation. In addition, responsibility has been taken to ensure the stability of the organisation in anticipation of possible changes related to the end of the term of office of the Auditor General.

The surveillance audit report notes that equal treatment of the quality of products and services is ensured, which allows for further successful optimisation of relevant processes. The quality management system encompasses all NAOL activities oriented towards both external and internal clients, performance processes, and resources.

The National Audit Office of Lithuania received its first ISO 9001 certificate in 2015. The latest certificate was awarded in 2018 and it is valid until 2021. During this period, surveillance audits are carried out once a year.
