05/06/2020   Auditor General with heads of European SAIs discussed in a webinar the response of the public auditing community to the COVID-19 pandemic

Today, Auditor General Mindaugas Macijauskas took part in the first webinar of European Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI), which discussed the response of public auditing community to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the webinar, heads of Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) discussed the global implications of the COVID-19 pandemic for SAIs, talked about the coordination and communication of EUROSAI members’ COVID-19 work, sharing of audit approaches and outcomes as well as lessons learned.

The webinar was organised by the SAIs of the United Kingdom and Finland that established the EUROSAI Project Group on Auditing the response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In addition to the heads of the European SAIs, the Comptroller General of the United States and Head of the US SAI as well as the Executive Director of the IDI, INTOSAI Development Initiative participated in the event.

Following the webinar, the project group intends to host several roundtable discussions and webinars to discuss the EUROSAI SAIs’ audit of the Covid-19 pandemic and develop an operational plan of knowledge sharing activities for the project group.

EUROSAI, the European Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions is one of the regional groups of INTOSAI, the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions. EUROSAI, which groups together the SAIs of 49 European States and the European Court of Auditors, promotes professional cooperation among SAI members.
